If you’re here, something probably isn’t working, and you’ve likely already tried everything Google suggested.
You love your dog. You’re doing your best. But despite that, the behaviour you were hoping would improve hasn’t. And if anything, it’s starting to affect your daily life.
I’m Nikki, an Associate Clinical Animal Behaviourist with the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and qualified dog trainer based in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. I work with dogs and their owners to create real, lasting change. Not quick fixes, not suppression, but genuine understanding of why the behaviour is happening and what to do about it.
I also live with three Romanian rescue dogs. So when I say I understand the challenges, the reactivity, the anxiety, the walks you dread, the bond that feels further away than you hoped, I mean it personally.
My approach looks at the whole picture: your dog’s history, health, lifestyle, genetics, and emotional state. Because behaviour doesn’t happen in a vacuum, and treating only the symptom rarely solves the problem. I learned that the hard way with my own dogs, and it completely changed how I work.
Everything I do is kind, ethical, and evidence-based. I’ll never use pain, intimidation, or aversive techniques. Instead, we work out what motivates your dog and use that to shift how they feel, because lasting behaviour change starts with emotions, not commands.
What I do ask from you is commitment. Real change takes time, consistency, and everyone in the household pulling in the same direction. I can give you the tools, the plan, and the support, but the work happens at home, in real life, every day. With the right guidance and that commitment, the difference can be remarkable.
Where needed, I’ll also recommend a vet or physiotherapy assessment, because sometimes what looks like a behaviour problem has a physical cause, and I’d rather find that out early.
If you’re ready to stop managing and start making real progress, I’d love to help.
